Online Vehicle Registration Berlin – Drive Off the Same Day

We register your vehicle via the i-Kfz procedure. You receive the provisional registration certificate, we emboss your plates in the branch – and off you go.

With online registration your vehicle is registered through the internet-based i-Kfz procedure. Once registration is complete you receive a provisional registration certificate (vorläufiger Zulassungsnachweis) that allows you to use the vehicle straight away – the official documents and stickers follow by post. With us, online registration costs €130 including all LABO fees; we emboss your plates directly in our branch.

How it works

Online registration in four steps

STEP 01

Documents Checked

We check free of charge whether your vehicle meets the requirements for the i-Kfz procedure. Best done in the branch – on request also in advance by phone or WhatsApp.

STEP 02

Application Filed

We handle the entire application via the i-Kfz procedure. You need no electronic ID function, no PIN and no AusweisApp.

STEP 03

Certificate Received

Once registration is complete you receive the provisional registration certificate and the registration notice. Both belong clearly visible in the vehicle.

STEP 04

Drive Off

We emboss your plates right here. That means you can drive immediately – the official papers and stickers arrive by post.

Requirements

When is online registration possible?

Not every vehicle qualifies. We check this in advance – free of charge, before you rely on anything.

Security code on the ZB II

The concealed security code on Registration Certificate Part II is required for the procedure. Older documents do not have one.

Security code on the ZB I

For vehicles with an existing registration the security code on Registration Certificate Part I is also required.

Valid eVB number

The electronic insurance confirmation must be active and issued for the correct vehicle. We can obtain it for you.

Valid roadworthiness test

The HU report (TÜV/DEKRA) must be valid. Not needed for brand-new vehicles.

SEPA mandate for vehicle tax

A SEPA direct debit mandate is required for the vehicle tax. We provide the form.

Identity document

ID card or passport in original. For company vehicles also a commercial register extract and power of attorney.

And if the requirements are not met?

No problem – we then carry out your case as a classic transfer (from €80). You find this out during the check, before you plan around an appointment.

The official registration documents and the stamp stickers are sent to you by post after the online registration. Until then the provisional certificate applies.
