Which Documents Do I Need?
What you need for vehicle registration – we check completeness in advance for free.
Required
ID Document
ID card or passport (original) of the vehicle keeper plus a current registration certificate. For company vehicles: commercial register extract and power of attorney.

Vehicle Title (ZB II)
Registration Certificate Part II – the vehicle title. Required for every registration or re-registration.

eVB Number
Electronic confirmation of your motor insurance cover. Don't have one yet? Request an eVB quote directly from us.

Roadworthiness Report (TÜV)
A current roadworthiness report, no older than 24 months. Not needed for brand-new vehicles.

IBAN for Vehicle Tax
Your IBAN is needed for the vehicle tax direct debit at the LABO. We provide the SEPA form.
EU Import
COC Document (EU Import)
Certificate of Conformity – only required for vehicles from other EU countries.
Number plates: When changing plates, the old plates (front and rear) must be brought in physically – they are de-registered and retained.
